• Advocating for the marginalized groups i.e. youth, women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities, gender equality and HIV/AIDS
• Advising the municipality on addressing issues of the marginalized groups e.g. development of policies, strategic documents
• Co-ordinating and implementing all municipal programs relating to the marginalized groups
• Mainstreaming issues of the marginalized into all municipal processes and programmes
• Ensuring compliance on all prescribed legislation.
